Legal NHL video streams on the horizon?

Saw a link to this yesterday, had to google for it today because SB Nation wouldn't let me post anything last night. Anyway, NHL is working to get video streaming more widely available.

Mike Mottau Signs with the Islanders/Okposo Injured

Good for Mottau and the islanders he lands a home and islanders get some experience on the blueline. On a bad note Okposo is out indefinitely.

Blackhawks Dump Huet to Europe

I continue to be baffled by some of the cap intricacies. How is it that they can dump his salary this way? Seems like there are a few instances of this. Could the Devils have done with with Pandolfo or was that barred by his NTC? Not sure there are really any active Devils candidates for this - I am assuming team gets nothing back, whereas if they say traded Zubrus they would in theory get something for him

Devils Ranked #6 in TSN Preseason

One observation here is that 4 of the top 5 teams will be Western Conference teams.

Flames' Langkow and Stajan sidelined indefinitely

If either one of them ends up on LTIR, it could open up another trade option for the Devils. The Flames could get an LTIR exception for their cap of $4.5 million for Langkow, and/or $3.5 million for Stajan (cap values per Lou and Darryl Sutter have traded before, and any players the Devils sent up there would certainly be familiar with Brent Sutter's system.

Mccamond in camp for islanders

I really liked mccamond but the team didn't want him back. I hope hell make the islanders club.

Another Bunch Going to Albany or Just Going

TG reports another handful of players will be assigned to Albany should they clear waivers. No real surprises on the list, although I think Brad Mills has filled the role he was asked pretty well. Guess that means PL3 is the enforcer.

Rangers Waive Redden

Well that helps them with their cap situation. Having 23 mill over the next 4 years sitting in the minors probably does not make management too happy but, the rangers are wealthy enough to afford such big blunders.

Gulitti: Devils cut 19 players from training camp, sent to Albany

The New Jersey Devils have made their first cuts of training camp. Surprisingly, Adam Henrique was sent down to Albany without getting one preseason game. I have more thoughts about this, but for now, here's the news as reported by Tom Gulitti at Fire & Ice.

Times Union Center Gets Ready for Albany Devils

Some updates (center ice, merchandise), and what appears to be some renovations to the arena and scoreboard. The Devils signed a 5 year deal with Albany for the minor league team, so it's nice to see the them playing somewhere comfortable and nice.
