2023-24 Gamethread #46: New Jersey Devils at Carolina Hurricanes

For the first time this season, the New Jersey Devils are playing the Carolina Hurricanes. It is a big four-point swing should the Devils prevail. Problem: Carolina is really good outside of the crease and they are well-coached. Talk about the game here as it happens.

For the first time this season, these two teams will face. A four-point swing hangs in the balance in the division here. Two teams who probably expected this season to go better than it did but undercut by goaltending. The opponent is well structured. What will happen tonight?

The Time: 7:30 PM ET

The Broadcast: TV - MSGSN2, Bally Sports South; Radio - Devils Hockey Network (on Audacy)

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils at the Carolina Hurricanes

The Song of the Evening: “Tyson vs. Douglas” by The Killers is absolutely inspired by the fight where Buster Douglas knocked out Mike Tyson. It is also an analogy for the need to accept things as they are and not just act as if it did not happen. A very appropriate lesson for a certain head coach who really should know better by now.

The Rules: The rules remain as they are as the Devils play Carolina for the first time this season. Please keep your language clean (this means no swearing, don’t mask it, it’s not enough), respect your fellow Devils fan with no personal attacks (play nice or you will not play here), no illegal streams (this means no asking, no hints, no nothing about it), and please keep comments relevant to the game. Go Devils.
