2023 Playoffs Gamethread #5: New Jersey Devils vs. Our Hated Rivals

This is Game 5. The series is tied at 2-2. Essentially, this is the start of a new series. Two wins are all that is needed. This is a chance for Our Favorite Team to right the very wrongs of Games 1 and 2. And to do so at The Rock, a far superior arena than the one in Manhattan. Likewise, the brink awaits for the losers. The pressure will only be larger and more present from here on out.

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. Our Hated Rivals (2-2 in the series)

The Song of the Night: I used this before but it is worth repeating. Especially since they actually played at the Rock on the lower concourse during intermissions at the Devils win over Buffalo on April 11. The band is Oceans of Illusions. They are from New Jersey. They play deathcore. They had an album come out in 2022, Unrecognizable. This is “Ümvelt.”
