The New Jersey Devils split a light week with another bad start sinking them to a loss against the Florida Panthers and some heroics leading them to a win over on Long Island. They are still growing into the form they showed last season but to be 2-1-1 while playing their C+ game for the most part is an encouraging sign.
The Devils are about to enter a stretch of many games against many opponents who may not have strong or defined playoff aspirations. This is where we would hope to see a good team separate itself from the pack a bit.
