Preseason Gamethread #1: New Jersey Devils at Washington Capitals

Welcome to the preseason. The Devils will play six preseason games. Expect this game to be more about the veterans getting warmed up and any fringe/prospects getting some looks ahead of Utica’s camp. Of course, those who do well may be rewarded with more appearances later. As ever, we shall see.

The Song for the Evening: Preseason games are exhibition games that are more about the teams getting prepared, spots being established, and hopes that no one gets hurt. The results do not matter. So the theme for all the songs I will be doing for the preseason games will be catchy pop music that can be described as “aggressive elevator soul.” Which is how Ginger Root describes his music. Ginger Root is the project of one Cameron Lew, who is very talented and creative between his videos, presentation, and music. As a good example of this, here is “Karaoke” from the album Rikki.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of this being the first of six exhibition games. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other.
