Training camp is underway for New Jersey with the notable omission of one Travis Zajac, who called it a career earlier this month. Zajac was the ever-present and stalwart representation of everything the Devils culture mirrored during the winning years. He remains an advisor to the team alongside numerous other past Devils at camp, namely Patrik Elias, Sergei Brylin, Martin Brodeur, and Ken Daneyko.
Elsewhere, PTO players like Mark Jankowski and Jimmy Vesey are making their case to take what looks like one of two available roster spots heading into the season. Additionally, the Devils have an unvaccinated player so we’ll see if that player changes his mind and is able to participate in games across the border.

It’s almost October, folks! Let’s hope that means good hockey and winning times to come as this team turns a corner yet again. As always, Let’s Go Devils!
