A storyline to watch: It appears that just one player on the roster has not received a COVID-19 vaccination. There’s plenty of speculation out there on the identity of this player, but here’s what’s been officially reported so far: “It is a prominent player on the New Jersey roster, not someone who is a prospect, likely ticketed for Utica in the American Hockey League or on a player-tryout contract.” [The Athletic ($)]
As of now, the Devils’ unvaccinated player would not be allowed to play in 9 games this season. First one is Dec. 3. He must be two weeks past vaccination to play in Winnipeg.

He really enjoyed life and really enjoyed helping others. It sucks that he’s gone. It happened way too fast.” [ESPN]
As he looks to lock up his spot with the Kraken, Nathan Bastian notes that he has checked the schedule: “I think I did well in New Jersey last year, but as soon as I got picked, and a schedule came out the first game I looked for was the game back there.” [Seattle Times]
