The 2021 NHL Draft Lottery was on June 2, 2021. After nearly two months, what that lottery will yield will be determined tonight. Tonight is the first round of the second main event of the 2021 NHL Offseason: The 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The New Jersey Devils (currently) own the fourth overall and twenty-ninth overall picks in this year’s draft. This is your open post to discuss the first night of the two-day draft.

The Time: 8:00 PM ET

The Broadcast: TV - ESPN2, Sportsnet, Sportsnet Now, TVA Sports.

The Location: N/A. It is a remote draft again. The hub is at Secaucus, NJ, the home of the NHL Network studios.

The Devils’ Picks Tonight: Fourth and twenty-ninth overall.

The Likeliness that Both Picks Will Be Used: Very high for fourth overall. Ask again later for twenty-ninth overall.

The AAtJ Mock Draft Picks: In our internal site mock draft, we decided on Luke Hughes at fourth overall and left it up to a poll for The People Who Matter (you) to decide the 29th overall selection among four choices (Nikita Chibrikov, Francesco Pinelli, Simon Robertsson, and Olen Zellweger)

The SB Nation Mock Draft Picks: In the network-wide mock draft, we selected Luke Hughes at fourth overall and Simon Robertsson at 29th overall.

The AAtJ Draft Preview: Everything you may want to know about this draft from a Devils-perspective is in this post. It even links to all of the prospect profiles we did this year.

The General Reaction that I Have to the Trades that Happened Earlier Today: To quote Napoleon Bonaparte, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

The Rules: As always, keep your comments clean & respectful to others, relevant to the Devils and/or the NHL draft as a whole, and do not post illegal streams. We will try to get a post up specific for the draft pick (and any other significant moves made by the Devils tonight). So please bear with us throughout the night. You can and should comment, react, praise, and jeer the picks made throughout the first round. Thank you for being here at All About the Jersey for the 2021 NHL Draft. Go Devils.
