Gamethread #55: New Jersey Devils at New York Islanders

Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum will see the New Jersey Devils play the New York Islanders for the last time this evening. The Isles surely want to show up better than they did on Thursday. Let us discuss what happens in this game in this post, a Gamethread.

New York Rangers v New York Islanders
The last game at Uniondale for the Devils. The last regular season game at Nassau for the Islanders. This one could be emotional.

The New Jersey Devils will be on the road to end their 2021 season. Tonight, they will play their final game at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It is also the last regular season game in Uniondale for the New York Islanders. All signs point to an emotional win for the Isles. Can the Devils somehow pull out another upset and spoil their regular season end at a building they have (mostly) been in since 1972? Maybe?

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Song for the Evening: Somehow, a fairly melodic (and surprisingly stable, lineup-wise) hardcore band wrote a near-perfect pop-punk song in the early 2000s. I know they are not from Long Island; they were formed in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. But the song is too perfect given how it is the last regular season game at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum tonight. From their 2001 album Go, this is “Memory Lane” by H2O.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of this being the last game at Nassau for the Devils. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
