The Tom Wilson news cycle has moved quickly: The league opted, in truly ridiculous fashion, to only fine noted repeat offender Tom Wilson for some, let’s say ... egregious ... actions against Pavel Buchnevich and Artemi Panarin during the Caps-Rangers game on Monday night. You can see said incidents below. The Rangers registered their disappointment in that decision in a pretty pointed statement, saying, “We view this as a dereliction of duty by NHL Head of Player Safety, George Parros, and believe he is unfit to continue in his current role.” [ESPN] [TSN]

Interesting Seattle expansion draft tidbit in this week’s 31 Thoughts: “If (the Kraken) select anyone who has already been paid a July 1 bonus, they must re-pay it to the player’s previous team. Something else to calculate in your mock drafts.” [Sportsnet]

Huh. Look at that.

A piece of the puzzle here: The Canucks are relocating their AHL team from Utica to Abbotsford, B.C., for the 2021-2022 season. [Sportsnet]
