Tonight is the final home game of the season for the New Jersey Devils. The Rock has been a tough building for the Devils this season as they have one of the worst home records this season. If nothing else, I would like to see the Devils prevail over the Boston Bruins (as would the Islanders) and send the fans home happy on the second of Fan Appreciation Nights. Will we see that? It remains to be seen.
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. the Boston Bruins (SBN Blog: Stanley Cup of Chowder)
The Time: 7:00 PM ET
The Broadcasts: TV - MSG+, NESN Plus; Digital Audio - The Devils Hockey Network (Radio.com)
The Song for the Evening: As it is the final game in New Jersey for the NHL team until next season, they will play their final three games this season on the road. This season has been lost for at least a month and a half now. Fittingly, I am reminded by David Byrne’s attempt at a joyful song about impending doom. I’d argue others had more success in a metaphysical sense, but it’s pretty good all the same. It is the closing track of the Talking Heads’ 1985 album Little Creatures, “Road to Nowhere.”
The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of this being the last game in Newark this season for the New Jersey Devils. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
