Game Preview #52: Devils vs. Bruins

NHL: New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins Paul Rutherford-USA TODAY Sports

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (17-27-7) versus the Boston Bruins (30-14-6)

The Time: 7:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+

The Bruins are one win away from clinching the playoffs, while the Devils look to play spoiler. Boston, currently on the heels of a three game win streak, will face a similarly hot Devils team playing for pride.

Even though the Devils should be losing these games to improve the lottery, us as fans should always be hoping for a Devils win, especially against a team that has Brad Marchand. Temporarily ignore that the Bruins are fighting the Rangers for the last spot.

PK Subban is off the COVID-protocol list, so he may play today. I’ll predict the lines assuming he plays.

Predicted Lines

For the Devils:

Kuokkanen - Hughes - Sharangovitch
Zacha - Hischier - Bratt
Maltsev - Boqvist - Merkley
Wood - McLeod - Bastian

Murray - Severson
Smith - Subban
Butcher - Bahl

Blackwood will likely start

For the Bruins:

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Hall - Krejci - Smith
Ritchie - Kuraly - Coyle
DeBrusk - Lazar - Kuhlman

Lauzon - McAvoy
Grzelcyk - Miller
Reilly - Clifton

Tuuka Rask will start, as he returns today.
