The 2021 New Jersey Devils season ends tonight in Philadelphia. Both teams are not going to play beyond this evening. Both teams have nothing to really play for other than bragging rights, pride, professionalism, and leaving a last good impression for management. The latter may be crucial for the players up for new contracts and may be on the roster’s fringes. The Devils have done quite well against the Philadelphia Flyers in The Week of Pity. Can they leave Philly with another win this evening?

The Song for the Evening: The first song I used for Gamethreads for this season was by Hatebreed. The last song I will use for this season’s Gamethreads is also by Hatebreed. This is pure motivation distilled into a hardcore song. From the classic album The Rise of Brutality, “This Is Now.” (I highly recommend that Devils management put that track into their playlists for this offseason. If the plan is to wait until 2025 to be good, then your plan sucks and the team needs new management.)
