Garden State of Hockey- Episode 99: Good Luck, Travis and Kyle!

The Devils made a big trade and split their last two games against Buffalo.

NHL: New Jersey Devils at Pittsburgh Penguins Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The New Jersey Devils made a big swing by trading away two of the longest tenured members of the team to the New York Islanders for what is essentially a package of draft picks that includes a valuable first rounder. As such, the forward corps had a new look and new responsibilities as this team has officially transitioned completely into the new era.

Two games against Buffalo went similarly but yielded different results as the Devils stuck to their game plan and were able to avoid many of the mistakes they had made on Tuesday en route to a 6-3 win on Thursday. Moving forward, it’s all about the development of the kids as the Devils look to continue building for the future and look to get these young players valuable NHL experience to really hit the ground running next season.
