The Penguins finished off the three-game sweep of the Devils on Saturday with a 4-2 win. The good guys pulled within a goal, and Nico Hischier came thisclose to tying the game late and forcing overtime, but alas. [NHL] [All About the Jersey] [NorthJersey.com] [NJ.com]

The Devils managed to keep the losing streak (now at 10!) alive in excruciating fashion on Sunday, by blowing a 3-1 lead late to the Flyers. The league is planning to open next season Oct. 12, with training camps beginning on Sept. 22. Those and a few other tidbits from a general managers call last week here: [ESPN]
