Well, it appears that the Devils are going to put some heat on the Sabres for last place in the league, so there’s that to look forward to I guess. Marian Studenic got his first NHL goal and Nolan Foote tallied his first point as the Devils showed some life by mounting a comeback to get Sunday’s contest against the Rangers tied at 3-3. But then, the league’s worst penalty kill took the ice, and you know what happened. Devils lose 5-3 as the Rangers sweep the week. [NHL] [All About the Jersey] [NorthJersey.com] [NJ.com]
As it turns out, giving up the first four goals of a game is bad. Pavel Buchnevich tallied a hat trick for the Rangers, as the Devils’ comeback fell short. Rangers won 6-3 on Saturday. [NHL] [All About the Jersey] [NorthJersey.com] [NJ.com]
It appears that the Devils will be moving their AHL affiliate out of Binghamton. Binghamton Devils Executive Vice President of Operations Tom Mitchell: “This is devastating news to us, to the community. The demands [the New Jersey Devils] were putting on us were absolutely impossible and we just couldn’t comply with them. So it looks like we’re going to part ways, and just try to move on.” [WBNG]
