The New New Jersey Devils vs the New York Rangers of Old:

While the Devils were busy at the trade deadline, wheeling and dealing like any good team should, the Rangers stayed dead quiet. Apparently their big moves of the season were getting rid of Tony DeAngelo and Brendan Lemieux. Exciting.

In addition to some trades, we have some injuries to update on:

Nathan Bastian may be ready to return to the lineup, though probably not until at least the next game.

Pavel Zacha may not be fit to play tonight, having left Sunday’s game early and was still being evaluated as of the last update yesterday afternoon.

PK Subban did not practice yesterday due to the cut to his leg, but is expected to play tonight.

Nico Hischier is expected to return to the lineup tonight!!

The expectations for tonight’s lineup:

Kuokkanen - Hughes - Sharangovitch
Wood - Hischier - Bratt
Merlkey - McLeod - Thompson
Johnsson - Maltsev - Boqvist

Smith - Severson
Murray - Subban
Butcher - Siegenthaler

For the Rangers:

Kreider - Zibanejad - Buchnevich
Panarin - Strome - Blackwell
Lafreniere - Chytil - Kakko
Howden - Rooney - Kratsov

Lindren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Hajek - Smith
