The Devils were not much more impressive the second time around against New York, as they again allowed six goals at home and looked completely out of sorts doing it. However, while the situation seemed dire, the Devils found a hero in the person of Scott Wedgewood as he led them to a shutout win over Boston on Sunday. Wedgewood’s play masked the continually powerless power play and helped the Devils sweat through several late penalties en route to a game winning goal from Kyle Palmieri’s knee.
The Devils face Washington and the Islanders many times over the next few weeks so hopefully their results can be better than they have been against those teams throughout this season, especially against Washington.
As always, Let’s Go Devils! And let’s never let the team wear retro jerseys again.
