Garden State of Hockey- Episode 95: Close Calls and No-Calls

Another week led to another split of 4-3 games.

NHL: New Jersey Devils at Washington Capitals Scott Taetsch-USA TODAY Sports

The Devils jumped all over a vulnerable Philadelphia Flyers team en route to a well played but closer-than-it-should-have-been 4-3 win on Tuesday. The STK line is rolling right along and all four lines showed a strong effort against a reeling Flyers team whose goaltending is again letting them down. Thursday was closer, as the Devils almost managed to get a point against the Washington Capitals after giving up two leads less than two minutes after taking them and blowing a tie a minute after securing it. The Devils have still not figured out the Capitals this year and are running out of games in which to do so but the efforts have remained consistent and we are not seeing entire game lapses like they displayed against the New York Rangers in consecutive home games a few weeks ago.
