Garden State of Hockey- Episode 93: A Relieving Week

The Devils finally busted the home slump.

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins at New Jersey Devils Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The Devils finally had a winning work week as they took consecutive games from the still-dropping Buffalo Sabres and the perennially-injured-but-somehow-always-still-effective Pittsburgh Penguins. Two 3-2 games were quite different as the Devils held on in the first game and pushed the pace in the second but the end result was two much-needed wins under duress and hopefully wins to build on when they face Pittsburgh in back-to-back matinees this weekend. The availability of Pavel Zacha, MacKenzie Blackwood, and Nathan Bastian is still unclear for those games but hopefully their injuries are shorter term as the Devils could use the support of their leading scorer, starting goalie, guy who scores more than Jeff Skinner.

As always, thank you for listening! We really appreciate your feedback and it makes us want to continue making episodes twice a week, every week. Let’s see what these young Devils can do to bring respectability back to this season.

Let’s Go Devils!
