Rangers star Artemi Panarin is taking a leave of absence after allegations surfaced that he struck an 18-year-old girl in 2011. Panarin has denied the allegations, and the team is calling them an “intimidation tactic.” In a followup story, the New York post reports that, “Four of Artemi Panarin’s former KHL teammates told The Post they find the assault allegations leveled against the Rangers star by his KHL coach difficult to believe and none of them can recall the incident happening.” [TSN] [New York Post]
