Due to rescheduling by the NHL, the New Jersey Devils end up playing this opponent about a week earlier than their originally planned first match-up. It will be a challenge but the Devils have proven to be up for challenges in 2021. And as of yesterday, it’ll be on NBC of all channels. Yes, the Devils actually have a nationally televised game.
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils at the Washington Capitals (SBN Blog: Japers’ Rink)
The Time: 2:00 PM ET
The Broadcasts: TV - NBC, Sportsnet, SN1; Digital Audio - The Devils Hockey Network (Radio.com)
The Song for the Evening: Rennes, France math rock outfit Totorro brings the goods when it comes to this niche genre. Their 2016 album Come to Mexico hits all kinds of sentiments. The song “Yaaaago” fits well for competition. Maybe not as hard hitting as a hockey game, but certainly for a bike race between friends.
The Milestone: Assuming he dresses today, congratulations in advance to Travis Zajac for becoming the fourth New Jersey Devils player to play 1,000 games with the organization.
The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of this being a re-scheduled game. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
