Tonight begins a back-to-back set that will close out the Devils’ preseason. As they are on consecutive nights, one of the two - or maybe both - could be used as a means to show off the opening night’s roster. It could be used as a last chance for a few players to make their case to be on the active roster to start the season. If not tonight, then tomorrow perhaps. But it all comes to a point with this set, starting at the World’s Most Overrated Arena.
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils at the New York Rangers (SBN Blog: Blueshirt Banter)
The Time: 7:00 PM ET
The Broadcasts: TV - MSG, MSG+; Digital Audio - The Devils Hockey Network (Radio.com)
The Song for the Evening: One of the lyric videos from the City Slicker EP features the main man behind Ginger Root, Cameron Lew, lounging about before hitting you with a lot of “DOO”s. The sound. Not the waste material. The song is called “Neighbor.” I guess Our Hated Rivals are neighbors. Unlike Mr. Rogers, it is not nice to have them as neighbors.
The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of this being the fifth of six exhibition games. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
