Gamethread #5: New Jersey Devils vs. Calgary Flames

Johnny Gaudreau and the Calgary Flames arrive in Newark tonight to play the New Jersey Devils. This is the fifth and final game in the initial homestand for the Devils. Will it end with a W? Chat about it here as it happens.

Johnny Gaudreau will be back in New Jersey. He has some friends. It would be a good gift for him to leave with an ‘L.’ Also, this game is the last home game in this five-game run at the Rock.

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. the Calgary Flames (SBN Blog: Matchsticks & Gasoline)

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Broadcasts: TV - MSG+, SN1; Digital Audio - The Devils Hockey Network (Radio.com)

The Song for the Evening: Knocked Loose has recently released an EP called A Tear in the Fabric of Life. It is a concept album about dealing with the pain and grief from a passenger dying from a car crash from the perspective of the driver, who survived. As you would expect from Knocked Loose, it is rather cathartic in its heaviness. The first track, “Where Light Divides the Holler” sets the tone.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of the opponent being all the way from Alberta. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no illegal streams, no links to illegal streams, no asking for illegal streams, no illegal streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
