Gamethread #3: New Jersey Devils vs. Washington Capitals

The New Jersey Devils were swept in eight games against the Washington Capitals in 2021. Can they avoid a ninth straight winless game? This post is a gamethread, where the People Who Matter can discuss the game as it happens.

Our Favorite Team plays its first opponent within the Metropolitan Division tonight. It is an opponent they have not beaten since February 22, 2020. Yes, they were swept by them last season. A win would be welcomed just to end the winless streak at 0-6-2.

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Broadcasts: TV - MSG+, NBCSWA; Digital Audio - The Devils Hockey Network (Radio.com)

The Song for the Evening: The Devils lost eight games to the Capitals last season. Let us hope tonight is not a ninth straight winless game against the Caps. Not entirely related unless you want to compare GTA V to this hockey game somehow, this is “Nine is God” by Wavves.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of this being the latest chance for New Jersey to beat Washington. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no illegal streams, no links to illegal streams, no asking for illegal streams, no illegal streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
