We’re back with some Devils news as they announced the hiring of Mark Recchi to Lindy Ruff’s coaching staff. We also had some tidbits about former coach contracts not being renewed (Grier, Kowalsky, Melanson) but in the case of Grier and Kowalsky, there is thought that they will be in discussions for different roles within the organization.
The curious case of Alain Nasreddine is analyzed here by John. He may end up on staff after all and the reports seem to indicate that the higher-ups approved of his audition as head coach enough to retain him behind the bench in some capacity.
Congratulations to the Dallas Stars for earning a berth in the Stanley Cup Final! We’ll all see if the Islanders can become the second team ever to come back from 3-1 down to win in the Conference Final. We all know that Lou Lamoriello was a big part of the first team that managed to do it so they get another shot to keep the run alive after a big double overtime win.
Shoutout to Yanic Duplessis as well for his bravery in coming out. Hockey has historically not been the most accepting environment and hopefully he sets an example for every player to feel that they do not need to hide who they are and prove that hockey is indeed for everyone.
If you have any questions or comments, be sure to let us know in the comments. As always, thanks for listening and Let’s Go Devils!!
