With the NCAA season in flux, the Devils struck at an opportune time to sign Reilly Walsh and retain him in their prospect pool. He was poised to go back to Harvard for his senior year but with that being an impossibility from a sports perspective, he decided that now was the time to jump start his professional career and the Devils are both relieved and excited. He adds dynamic defensive depth to a system that had little outside of Ty Smith and should find a spot in Binghamton unless he impresses immensely in camp.

Otherwise, as this was recorded several days ago, we know now that the Blues have found a way back against the Canucks (good for NJ), Vegas finished off Chicago and Dallas stormed back against the Flames. With the exception of the Washington Capitals, every round robin team is leading their series and is on the cusp of advancing to the next round. Maybe there is some merit to this format after all...

We’d love to have some of your questions for our next episode so leave them in the comments or tweet us at @AAtJerseyBlog. We’re excited to keep the discussion going as the playoffs roll along and more news trickles out about potential starts of training camp and assistant coaches for New Jersey.

Thanks again for listening, it is you that makes it possible for us to hit milestones like our one-year anniversary and we’re looking forward to many more.
