Garden State of Hockey- Episode 56: Labor Peace and a Ruff Transition

The Devils make some big hires and the NHL strikes a deal.

After weeks of speculation, the New Jersey Devils went ahead and ripped the interim tag off of newly minted general manager Tom Fitzgerald and paired that news with the hiring of their new head coach, Lindy Ruff.

In terms of the CBA news, ESPN has a comprehensive breakdown of the changes and resulting implications. There’s a lot to pick apart but the league and more importantly, the Devils, will benefit as a whole. There’s tons to unpack but most importantly, we won’t have to worry about another lockout for a while.
