The NHL announced its return plays and while the Devils don’t factor in to more games, there are still lots of implications for New Jersey’s team.

If you’ve been living under a rock, you won’t know any of the following:

  1. The NHL announced a return-to-play plan, the details of which can be found here.
  2. The Devils are not involved but both teams that influence the Devils draft are involved so there is still little clarity about where exactly and how many times the Devils will be drafting in the first round.
  3. The lottery changed and New Jersey’s odds at 1, 2, or 3 improved slightly.
  4. The Devils still don’t have a full time GM or head coach.

We talked about all of those points and more, as our foray into historic Devils games takes its own pause. We’ll look back at a mostly forgettable season and look ahead to the draft and possible future Devils in the weeks ahead.

Keep an ear to the ground for more hockey news in the coming weeks, as the trade moratorium has been lifted on the teams that won’t get to participate in this tournament. Perhaps they’ll be joined in this by the losers of the play-in round as well.

For now, thanks for listening and Let’s Go Devils!
