Garden State of Hockey- Episode 37: A Rare but Good Weekend

New, comments

The Devils ended their road trip and put together an impressive weekend of back-to-back wins while Schmelzer takes home AHL Player of the week honors.

This week, we tackled the Devils’ games against the Vegas Golden Knights, the St. Louis Blues and the New York Rangers. A pair of great games was upended by yesterday’s effort against the Pittsburgh Penguins (this episode may have some preview talk for that game which was proven uh...wrong) but nevertheless, it was a positive blip in a season full of negatives. We also sent some more love towards Binghamton as Ryan Schmelzer captured AHL Player of the Week honors following a six point weekend. Finally, we checked in with some of the teams that are influencing New Jersey’s draft capital like the Vancouver Canucks and the Arizona Coyotes. Things seem to be going well on those fronts so fingers crossed that they remain headed down that path.

We’ll cover Janne Kuokkanen’s debut in our next recap episode but congratulations to him for his first game action as a Devil!

Let us know if you have anything in particular that you want us to cover. We’re getting down to the nitty-gritty here and the March gauntlet is well underway so there’s no time like the present to look at the future. We’ll have more individual pick coverage as the draft gets closer.

Have a good week everyone and Let’s Go Devils!
