The third stop on Our Favorite Team’s final extended road trip of the season is the team’s second in California. They will take on the weakest of the three teams in the Golden State this evening, possibly looking for another win against them this season. On top of this, this is another brother vs. brother game as New Jersey forward Joey Anderson could see time against the recently recalled defenseman Mikey Anderson. All of this on Leap Day.
The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils at the Los Angeles Kings (SBN Blog: Jewels from the Crown)
The Time: 4:00 PM ET
The Broadcasts: TV - MSG+, FS-W; Digital Audio - The Devils Hockey Network (Radio.com)
The Song for the Afternoon to Early Evening: In the annals of New York Hardcore, I never got into Agnostic Front. I know they were a massive influence in early to mid 1980s, they helped bring about that crossover thrash style that came about in the late 1980s, and they are legends of the genre. But it just never clicked with me. All the same, they called it a day in 1992, re-united in 1996, and kept on making music since then. From that second era, not long after they signed with Epitaph, their 1998 album Something’s Gotta Give was more hardcore punk than metal. And the song “Gotta Go” remains one of their enduring songs from this time period. It helped that it was on the label’s compilation album Punk-O-Rama III, too.
The Rules: The rules remain the rules regardless of the fact that this game is on Leap Day. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
