Tonight, there is New Jersey Devils hockey! The 2019 Prospects Challenge begins tonight for New Jersey as they will take on Buffalo.

For the uninitiated, this is a Gamethread. This is where you can comment about the game as it happens.

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Broadcast: This is an online-only tourney. The Sabres’ official site will stream this game. So will the Devils’ official website.

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils vs. the Buffalo Sabres (SBN Blog: Die by the Blade)

The Tourney Preview: As this is pre-preseason, there will not be a game preview. Instead, I put together this preview for the entire 2019 Prospect Challenge. Check that out if you want to get caught up before (or during?) the action.

The Update: Per the Sabres’ PR department on Twitter yesterday evening, Dylan Cozens will play tonight.

The Goal: No injuries and play well. Expect to see this in the next two Gamethreads.

The Song of the Night: A short series of games featuring prospects? This calls for some fusion. For this one, let’s focus on Jaco Pastorius’ amazing bass in “Teen Town” by Weather Report.

The Rules: As usual, keep it clean, respect your fellow Devils fan, and keep it relevant to the game. Go Devils.
