Preseason Gamethreads #1 & 2: New Jersey Devils vs. Boston & at Montreal

Most of the New Jersey Devils will take to the ice in a split-squad set of games tonight. One group will be in Newark to play Boston. The other will be up in Montreal. This is the first night of preseason hockey for the team. Let’s see how it works out for those involved.

The Matchups: The New Jersey Devils vs. the Boston Bruins (SBN Blog: Stanley Cup of Chowder) and The New Jersey Devils at the Montreal Canadiens (SBN Blog: Eyes on the Prize)

The Times: 7:00 PM ET in New Jersey for the Boston game, 7:00 PM ET in Montreal for the road game.

For the Devils-Boston game in Newark, I am thinking of something like “Rage of Discipline” the title track that opens the 2005 album by Righteous Jams.

For the Devils-Montreal in Quebec, I am thinking of the album closer “Reinventing Ron Hextall (I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye)” from Fire Works by The Sainte Catherines.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules even when there is more than one exhibition game.
