Gamethread #82: New Jersey Devils at Florida Panthers

New, comments

Tonight is the end of the 2018-19 regular season. It’s finally over after tonight. The New Jersey Devils are on the road against the Florida Panthers in a mostly meaningless game. Enjoy it for it what it is and discuss it in this post.

This is it! The end! No more games after this until September for the 2019 preseason.

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils at the Florida Panthers (SBN Blog: Litter Box Cats)

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+ 2; Digital Audio - The “Devils Hockey Network.” A.K.A. Go to Radio.com or NHL.com for an audio feed.

The Songs for the Night: You’re getting three tonight.

First, because this game is in the Sunshine state, here is some Death. I’ve used this song a lot because it is one of my very favorite songs. A prescient track about the Internet-infused world we live in today that came out on the seminal album Symbolic in 1995. This is “1,000 Eyes.”

Second, because this is the last game of the season, here is some No Means No. Their 1988 album Wrong is a classic in that it hits all kinds of progressive and punk musical feelings with memorable tracks throughout the LP. Once introduced as “Our yo-ho-ho skate punk song” this is “The End of All Things.”

Third, because it is a song that comes to mind when I think about the 2018-19 New Jersey Devils season. I may think of others that may be more appropriate. But ahead of today’s season closer, this is what I think. By toe from their album The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety, this is “C.” The ending strikes home.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules even though this is the last Gamethread of the 2018-19 regular season for All About the Jersey. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game.Thank you for reading today and all season long. For the last game until preseason in the Fall: Go Devils!
