Which Devils are Grittiest? (Poll)

New, comments

Grit is what gives a hockey player his power. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the hockey galaxy together...

Devils V Sabres

Inspired by this poll by Dom LuczySZN, I wanted to know the AAtJ readership thoughts are about this issue, particularly as it pertains to the Devils roster.

I would like the results to be uncontaminated, so I’m going to resist the urge to comment about the statistical history of grit or about my personal opinions. Just answer truthfully.

The poll is embedded below, but if you can’t see it, you can access the form here. If you either don’t really know who a player is — a scenario that is, unfortunately all too real for this years post-deadline squad — just leave it blank and go on to the next player.

All skaters (I can’t imagine what someone would possibly think a “gritty” goalie would look like) are listed below in alphabetical order. Your voting should be as follows:

1 - Wimpy

2 - Slightly less wimpy

3 - Meh

4 - Adequately Gritty

5 -

This time next week, I will post the results, as well as a bit of an analysis on what Devils fans perceive “grit” to be in the context of these players. I’ll relate it to physical attributes, common metrics, analytical measures, etc.

Thanks for playing along Devils fans. I look forward seeing your thoughts!
