Game Preview #22: Detroit Red Wings vs. the New Jersey Devils

The Devils lost again last night, to the Penguins. Here’s the preview for the Red Wings.

Favorites to Win?: For possibly the first time all season, the Devils are probably favored to win this matchup! There is only one team in the NHL worse than the Devils, and that is the Red Wings.

However, the Devils ARE a bad team. They were recently destroyed 4-1 by the Penguins, and then lost 5-1 to the Bruins.

How long will this go for? What more needs to happen for change? I still strongly believe the Devils have the talent to be good

Who to Watch - Red Wings: Anthony Mantha leads the team in points, with 23 in 24. After that, Tyler Bertuzzi, Dylan Larkin and Andreas Athanasiou are quality depth forwards, with Bertuzzi having 22 points in 24.

Hronek and Mike Green are the top pairing defensemen for the Red Wings. Hronek has 5 goals and 8 assists in 22 games, while Green only has 4 points through 22.

The Red Wings have now lost four straight, after losing 5-4 to the Blue Jackets.

Devils Projected Lines: No news on the Devils lines for today, but I’d expect it to go like this.

Hall - Hischier - Palmieri

Wood - Zacha - Bratt

Boqvist - Hughes - Gusev

Coleman - Zajac - Simmonds

Greene - Severson

Butcher - Subban

Mueller - Vatanen

I’d guess Domingue starts?
