Gamethread #41: New Jersey Devils at Vegas Golden Knights

New, comments

The New Jersey Devils early January road trip continues with a stop in Vegas to meet the Golden Knights. Can the Devils sweep the season series away from a surging Vegas team?

Let’s see a lot of this during today’s game please.

Standing at a record of 1-1-0 on the current four game road trip, the New Jersey Devils will attempt to get over .500 in an afternoon contest against the Vegas Golden Knights. While Vegas had a rough start to the year, they’re now right back where they were last year, proving the freshman run wasn’t the fluke many thought it would be. With the injuries mounting for New Jersey (Taylor Hall and Marcus Johansson remain out and MacKenzie Blackwood will join them on the sidelines at least for today), a visit to Vegas might not be the joyride that it was the last time the Devils rolled into town.

The Time: 4:00 PM ET

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+; Digital Audio - The “Devils Hockey Network.” Head over to Radio.com or NHL.com for an audio feed.

The Song for the Night: Well the Devils are at their official halfway point of this NHL campaign, so what song could be better than Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer”? The team is officially “halfway there” with their playoff chances “livin’ on a prayer.” Maybe when he returns, the team can take Taylor Hall’s hand and they’ll make it?

Corny? Yes. Cheesy? Also yes. Does it still somehow get the job done for today? We’re three for three.

The Rules: The usual set of rules remains in effect before, during and after the game. Please keep the comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, nothing even related to streams), and about the game itself. Make sure to remain respectful to your fellow posters even if you disagree with them. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fans.Thank you for reading. Let’s go Devils!
