New Jersey Devils v Tampa Bay Lightning - Game Five

As with all Free Agent Frenzies, Sunday was busy. We’ll recap it right below. Here are your links for today:

Devils Links

It was a pretty quiet day Sunday for the Devils, with Ray Shero completing three minor depth deals for the organization. Read John’s summary here: [All About the Jersey]

Eddie Lack is back. He’s signed a one-year, one-way contract worth $650,000. [NHL]

John Moore is headed to Boston on a ... five-year deal? OK, then.

Michael Grabner is off to Arizona on a three-year deal with an $3.35 million AAV. [ESPN]

No deal announced yet for Patrick Maroon:

The Devils have hired former Wild GM Chuck Fletcher as “Senior Advisor to the General Manager/Hockey Operations.” You may remember Chuck Fletcher as the guy who signed one Zach Parise. He was let go by the Wild in April after serving there since 2009. [NHL]

Update on Taylor Hall:

Hockey Links

The big fish: John Tavares is leaving Long Island. He’s headed to the Maple Leafs on a seven-year, $77 million contract. [TSN]

Here’s how the contract is structured:

The Sabres traded Ryan O’Reilly to the Blues in exchange for a first-round pick, a second-round pick, Patrik Berglund, Vladimir Sobotka and prospect Tage Thompson. The Blues also agreed to pay a $7.5 million contract bonus that O’Reilly was owed. [TSN]

The Flyers have signed James van Riemsdyk to a five-year, $35 million deal. [ESPN]

Lou and the Islanders have signed Leo Komarov:

Paul Stastny is headed to Las Vegas on a three-year deal with a $6.5 million AAV. [TSN]

Ryan McDonagh has signed a seven-year contract extension with the Lightning:

The Kings have signed Drew Doughty to an eight-year, $88 million contract extension. [NHL]

That Doughty deal is sure to inform the discussions the Senators are having with Erik Karlsson. Ottawa general manager Pierre Dorion says he’s made a contract offer to his star defenseman. Where do things go from there? [TSN]

Feel free to discuss these and any other hockey-related stories in the comments below.
