Not much has been happening for the NJDevils on Free Agency Day despite the Eric Gryba signing, but another defenseman has come into the picture. Veteran John Ramage was signed to a $650,000/$150,000 one-year, two-way contract it was announced on Sunday. The 27 year-old had previously played for the Cleveland Monsters, Tucson Roadrunners and Milwaukee Admirals last season in the AHL and had four goals and 11 assists in 66 games.

The 6’ 0” 190 lb. native of Mississauga, ONT was a fourth round pick for the Calgary Flames in 2010 and has played over 300 games in the AHL. Assuming Gryba will also be down in Binghamton, I suspect Jacob MacDonald will not be tendered a contract from the Devils.

Ramage joins Tariq Hammond, Colton White, Josh Jacobs and Brian Strait as returnees on the blueline for the Binghamton Devils as well as new guy Colby Sissons in the fall.
