On this week’s Talking Red, I (Mike) joined David Sarch to talk about the final week of the Devils season, the feeling of meaningful late-season hockey being back in New Jersey, and some of the roster decisions that lie ahead of the team. Specifically, we talked about the goaltending situation and the presence of Mirco Mueller, Jesper Bratt, and others in the Devils lineup. Plus, we had some obligatory “Taylor Hall is amazing” talk and also dreamed of John Tavares coming across the Hudson to New Jersey this offseason.
In addition to our usual babbling, Dave also interviewed host of the MSG Hockey Show and general MSG Networks presence Arda Öcal and they talked about a recent piece Öcal wrote about Bill Goldberg of WCW fame being in the locker room for the Devils’ 2000 Cup win. The also talked about Arda’s work over at MSG, his approach for trying to make analytics accessible on TV broadcasts, and the Mikey Strong charity hockey game that he was involved in at the Prudential Center.
