In Game 2, the Devils fell behind again big, this time 5-1, but made things a little interesting late. The Lightning held on to win 5-3 to take a 2-0 series lead. [The Record] []

After the Devils went down big, Cory Schneider played in relief and stopped all ten shots he faced. Will he get the start in Game 3 or do the Devils go back to Keith Kinkaid? [The Record] []

The way John Hynes talked on Sunday, it would seem changes to the lineup are likely heading into Game 3:

The Devils have signed Joey Anderson, who just won an NCAA title in his sophomore season at Minnesota-Duluth, to his three-year entry level contract. He’s joined the Devils and is eligible to play in this series, although that doesn’t seem particularly likely. This year will count for the first year on his contract, meaning he’ll have two years left on his deal starting next season. []

At some point, you almost, *almost* start to feel bad for Caps fans. The Blue Jackets have taken both games of the Washington-Columbus series in overtime on road. [TSN]

After 22 seasons in the NHL, Ken Hitchcock has retired. He ends his career with 823 wins, the third-most all time among NHL head coaches. [PHT]
