The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (40-28-9) at the New York Islanders (32-36-10 SBNation; Lighthouse Hockey)

The Time: 7:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+

Struggling Islanders: The Islanders have really struggled, and are 3-7-0 in their last 10. Players such as Brock Nelson and Andrew Ladd have not performed up to expectations, and their goaltending has been nothing short of atrocious. Veteran Jaroslav Halak is in line to have his worst full-season ever, with a .906 save percentage and a record of 19-26-6. This really hasn’t been the Islanders year.

On the Other Hand: They do have some dangerous players. John Tavares, Matthew Barzal and Josh Bailey are the dangerous trio, with Tavares and Barzal topping a point-per-game. Anders Lee could hit 40 goals on the season, and Anthony Beauvillier has really come out as a sophomore. This team, being 8th in the NHL, has no troubles scoring. It’s keeping pucks out that’s the issue.

Must Win: This is a must win for the Devils, just as is every remaining game on the season. Blake Coleman is hot, with 3 goals in his last 5. Kyle Palmieri has 4 goals in his last 3 games. This Devils team needs its players to step up, in order to ensure a victory.

So... What do you think? Who do you think will win? Let me know in the comments below, and take care!
