The Matchup: New Jersey Devils (35-26-8) vs. the Las Vegas Golden Knights (45-19-5 SBNation; Knights On Ice)

The Time: 10:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: MSG+

The Big Vegas Boys: This team is scary good. Four players on this team have 60-plus points, while 5 guys on this team have 20+ goals. William Karlsson, he who previously had a career high of 9 goals, which was all the way back in 2015, has an incredible 36 (!!) goals. Jonathan Marchessault, the man who was rejected by the Lightning and then shunned by the Panthers, has 65 points in 66 games, including 23 goals. The always underrated David Perron has 62 points in 63 games. Reilly Smith was literally traded to Vegas so that the Golden Knights would be “forced” to take Jonathan Marchessault. James Neal and Erik Haula were also leftovers that the Golden Knights snagged, and now they have 24 and 25 goals respectively. The Golden Knights hit the jackpot during the draft, and will now ride that win to become one of the NHL’s best teams.

Devilish Struggles: Even with the win over the Predators, the Devils are still only 4-6 in their past 10, and at a terrible time to boot. The Devils currently hold the last wild card spot, though Florida is only 3 points away, and with two points to spare. Their goal-scoring has cooled down significantly, and trade acquisition Michael Grabner has yet to record his first point. Hopefully, the Devils can keep up, and get back to their winning ways.

Home Galore: The Golden Knights are an incredible 24-7-2 at home, making them tied for the least losses at home. They are also on a three game winning streak. A win against this team won’t be easy.
