The Matchup: New Jersey Devils (28-20-8) versus the Carolina Hurricanes (27-21-9). SBN Blog: Canes Country

The Time: 7:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+

Down the Stretch: This game will be one of four games that the New Jersey Devils play versus the Carolina Hurricanes between tonight and March 27. Carolina has one fewer point than the New Jersey Devils while having played one more game to this point. The Hurricanes are in the second wild card spot for the Eastern Conference. The Devils may have to win at least two of these four games to ensure continued wild card contention.

The Carolinian Threats: The Hurricanes have plenty of young talent. Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen have 46 and 45 points, respectively. Noah Hanifin and Jaccob Slavin are great at moving the puck out of the defensive zone and up the ice towards the Hurricanes offensive zone. The Devils will have to contain the Hurricanes’ young players if they want to win tonight.

Day Off: The Devils took the day off yesterday. There is no practice that I can point to for any news or bits of information. If there is any information regarding the injury reports on Brian Boyle, John Quenneville, and Cory Schneider today, I’ll pass along what I see.

Your Thoughts: What do you think of the Carolina Hurricanes? Do you think they’ll continue to move up the standings, or are they where you think they should be? Or will they fall from this point? How do you think the Devils should make their lines today?
