The Time: 7:00 PM
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+
Revenge: A part of the Devils’ hard-to-watch losing streak was a 3-1 loss in Philadelphia to the Flyers. Key to winning would be correcting the issue of matchups with the Giroux-Couturier-Konecny line. With the Flyers two points behind us, and all teams behind in the Metro within four points, this game is important. John recapped that game.
Personnel: Kinkaid will be in net. Hopefully he doesn’t get hurt again. Updates on other lineup aspects will be passed along as I see them.
Power Play Tensions?: John Hynes was reportedly very angry during the practice of the power play at practice yesterday. Amanda Stein reported during the practice that he stopped drills and said: “Our power play *has* to get going. It’s just not good enough.” I wonder what he may be considering regarding the power play. Specifically - is he centered wholly around the execution of players, or is he growing tired of the Ward-system’s inconsistency as well? I’m interested in how far Hynes might be willing to go to fix the power play.
Pride Night at the Rock: February 1 is going to be Pride Night for the Devils at the Prudential Center.
I am so looking forward to my first Pride Night with the @NJDevils and #NJDevils fans this Thursday!— Amanda Stein (@amandacstein) January 30, 2018
