The Song for the Evening: Like many young people in the early to mid-1990s, I heard plenty of Nirvana. Like many, many, many people, I had Nevermind on CD. It may have been the first CD I owned. It was after Kurt Cobain killed himself, so I was behind the times from the get-go. No matter. It’s a landmark album. It is a pinnacle of the grunge rock and set up alternative rock as a thing. If you like this kind of music, it is a must-listen - assuming you already haven’t. I know I did. I must have listened to it hundreds of times. Instead of one of the big singles, here’s the fourth track from the album: “Breed.”
