Please do better. Or at least don’t act like you lost because the opposition scored a goal.
The Time: 7:00 PM ET
The Song for the Night: Toronto will be celebrating the Hockey Hall of Fame for this weekend. The actual induction of Martin Brodeur, Martin St. Louis, Willie O’Ree, Aleksander Yakushev, Jayna Hefford, and everyone’s favorite commissioner, Gary Bettman will take place on Monday night. Brodeur was progressive in that when he came up, he wasn’t a butterfly-style goalie like many coming out of Quebec at the time; his stickhandling was an asset - enough to force the NHL to institute a stupid rule; and he was a cornerstone for an organization that did things their way and not anyone else’s. To that end, this night deserves a legendary progressive song and it just so happens to be tied into where this game is tonight. From the seminal Moving Pictures, this is “YYZ” by Rush. By the way, the Devils’ home game on November 13 is their Hockey Hall of Fame Night.
The Rules: The rules remain the rules even when the game is on and you’re humming along Geddy Lee’s baseline. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
