Thanksgiving Eve at the Prudential Center means a game between the New Jersey Devils and the Montreal Canadiens. Will the Devils fans have a win to be thankful for? Discuss the game as it happens with them in this Gamethread.

NHL: Montreal Canadiens at New Jersey Devils
Something we want to see many times tonight. Hopefully.
Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Thanksgiving is a time to be happy for what you have. There are no NJ games on Thanksgiving. There is one before it and one after it. This is the one.

The Matchup: The New Jersey Devils (8-9-2) vs the Montreal Canadiens (11-6-4, SBN Blog: Habs Eyes on the Prize)

The Time: 7:00 PM ET

The Broadcast: TV - MSG+2; Digital Audio - The “Devils Hockey Network.” A.K.A. Go to or for an audio feed.

The Song for the Evening: The team has played better hockey since I started linking to power metal songs in these Gamethreads. Coincidence? I think so! But I’m on a power metal kick and the genre is so filled with gooey metal cheese that I want to share it. Since there are games surrounding Thanksgiving, I will use songs by Italian power metal giants Rhapsody (now known as Rhapsody of Fire). From Tales from the Emerald Sword Saga, this is “Emerald Sword.” Fast? Yes. Singing? Yes. Loads of riffs and some extravagant solos? Yes. Music and lyrics pulling from fantasy elements to the point where you wonder if you just multi-classed to paladin while listening to it? Absolutely.

The Rules: The rules remain the rules even when the game is on and you’re hearing a song that makes you wonder if you should be battling a boss in a RPG. Please keep your comments clean, legal (read: no streams, no links to streams, no asking for streams, no streams), and all about the games itself. Just as importantly, let’s respect each other. There’s no need for drama or being unwelcoming of your fellow Devils fan. This is a Gamethread, let’s focus on the game. Thank you for reading. Go Devils!
