Fresh off two exciting wins over McDavid’s Oilers and Ovechkin’s Capitals, the Devils look to make it three in a row. The task won’t be easy though, as they have to face a Sharks team with star players like Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson, Joe Pavelski, and Logan Couture. It makes for an exciting game!

The Matchup: San Jose Sharks (2-2-1; SBNation: Fear the Fin) vs. the New Jersey Devils (2-0-0)

The Time: 1:00 PM EST

The Broadcast: MSG+

The Sharks’ Early Season: Compared to expectations, the Sharks are off to a slow start. They’ve beaten Los Angeles and absolutely destroyed Philadelphia to the tune of 8-2, but at the same time have been shutout by the Islanders and have lost to the Rangers. Let’s hope they continue this streak of losing to NY area teams.

Player-wise, Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns are still looking for their first goals, but do have three assists each. Evander Kane leads in goals, with four in five. Youngster Kevin Labanc leads the team in points, with 5 points.

The Devils’ Early Season: Our Devils are the only undefeated team at this point in the season. That obviously means we’re the best team and the favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Joking aside (somewhat), the Devils have impressed me so far. They’ve not only beaten the Oilers and Capitals, but outplayed them throughout the course of the games. With 6 and 6 goals scored, and with Keith Kinkaid’s game two shutout, we are technically first in the NHL in goals for and against. Obviously the season is very young, but the potential is t

here, and the team should only get better with the addition of Jesper Bratt. Let’s see what happens.

Lines: Nothing changes
