The Prudential Center opens it’s doors to regular season Devils hockey for the first time this regular season. And the Devils will have an exciting opponent to face in their first game at the rock this year, as they look to slow down the offensive firepower of the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals. Surely we’re all excited to see the Devils back on American soil, and so let’s jump straight into the preview.
The Matchup: The Washington Capitals (2-0-1 ; SBN Blog: Japer’s Rink) at the New Jersey Devils (1-0-0)
The Time: 7:00 PM EST
The Broadcast: TV - MSG+
Notes On the Capitals: Washington, being the defending Stanley Cup champs, have had quite the attention on them in these first few games. The Capitals have played on national television (A 7-0 drubbing of the Boston Bruins) to start the season, and had two marquee matchups against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights. Washington, as expected, has come into this season boasting a dynamic offensive attack. In their first three games, Washington has scored seven, six, and five goals, and has only trailed to the division rival Penguins.
Lines: The Devils did not participate in a practice yesterday, but on Tuesday their lines in practice looked like this:

Injury Updates: The Devils have a couple pressing injuries at hand. Jesper Bratt, who fractured his jaw, was seen working out by himself on Tuesday. As for the return of Cory Schneider, the official word is that he will be evaluated this week to see where he is in his rehab. When he’s ready to return he’ll likely see some time in AHL Binghamton. However, there is no word at the moment, and nothing is imminent.
In Closing: So, the stage is set. What do you think of this matchup? Who will be in attendance? Thanks, guys, and let’s go Devils.
